TurboTax Unemployment Update Questions

Hello, Will the updates of the desktop/CD Window updates for the unemployment tax relief include the States, particularly Michigan and South Carolina?

In addition, has Michigan extended the filing due date to 5/17/2021, same as the Federal due date?  Also, does Michigan have unemployment tax relief?  I have the same questions for South Carolina, whether they have extended the filing due date to 5/17/2021, and whether they have unemployment tax relief?  Thank you.

Desktop update is 3/25 - probably late afternoon as usual.

The law was a Federal law.  It does not affect states.

(Most stated do not tax their own unemployment payments.)

Thanks for the reply.  Both Michigan and NC tax unemployment compensation.  So I need to know whether these states provide tax break/relief.

Also, did Michigan extend the filing date to 5/17/2021?
