TurboTax still buggy

TurboTax 2024 will not install.  Claims says something went wrong during install.  I uninstalled it... re-booted the computer and tried again.  Same problem.  This software is not ready.... should have waited until  late February to download it .  Running windows 10.  Had this same problem last year.  Previous years 2015 thru 2022 I had no issues and it worked great.  I installed the previous versions in late February with no issues.  Again... this version is not ready.  MalwareBytes and Norton were uninstalled and the computer re-booted before this install.  My other 22 programs run flawlessly with MB and Norton.

Repair of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.40.33810 did the trick for me.   I did not have to uninstall/reinstall

My steps

Control Panel

Programs and featuers

Scroll down to the Microsoft Redistributable and highlight

Select Change up towards the top and then repair.

There wasn't a more-descriptive error message or error code?   Some people have had missing or old version of MS Visual C++ as @ Bsch4477 mentions.  See his 2 comments for more info.

don't see an option to "Repair" the VC++ Redistributable (I also had 14.40.33810), so I downloaded and installed the latest version (14.42) from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 and that fixed the problem.
