My wife and I both have used TT for many. years in preparing returns for ourself, our children and grandchildren. She uses a Window-based platform on her laptop, and I use a Mac. In the past, we have always bought the Premier disc version, which enables both of us to load the Federal onto our respective computers. Then, my wife purchases several state tax programs, which are loaded onto her computer, and I go to TT Support to have Mac versions of those state programs loaded into our TT account, which I can then download onto my Mac.
TT has evidently changed for the 2023 returns the number of computers (?) that a single software purchase can be loaded onto. Does this mean that we have to buy two versions of the Premier version in order to load the software onto our respective computers? Or, am I reading the restrictions incorrectly?

You should still be able to install the TurboTax software for 2023 on both a Windows and Mac computer that you own with the CD provided.

Is it preferable for us to purchase the disk version so that we can install the Federal version respectively on our two computers? We both then have to login to TT separately to activate our versions with the same license code from the time of purchase. Will TT block the second to register, saying that you have already provided a license code?
What is the restriction that TT has enacted for this year? You are implying that one can load the purchased software onto more than one computer? Will I still have to go to TT Support to ask them for Mac versions of the state returns, assuming that my wife has downloaded the Windows versions first onto her computer?
It would be best to have these questions answered by TurboTax support.
