Turbotax Desktop basic?

Will I be okay with the Basic Desktop Version?

  • Standard Deduction
  • Import 1099s for interest, dividends and capital gain distributions
  • Investments will have some percentage of Federal gov't div/int and Foreign tax credit
  • ACA 1095-A and HSA contribution

Desktop Basic can handle all of those ----what Basic cannot do--unless you pay an extra $40--is provide a program to prepare a state return.

@juiceman1 If you will need to prepare a state return, get Deluxe that includes the state program--it will be cheaper than adding a state program to Basic.
