TurboTax charges

I had to upgrade to "Do It Yourself Deluxe 2025" at a cost of $79 because I had one schedule to file with the federal return.   I then was required to pay $69 to e-file the state return.  The state e-file cost was only $20-$25 with Deluxe in previous years.  In the end, $148 plus $10.73 taxes for a total of $158.73 was deducted from the already-small return I was receiving.  Why such high cost for a simple return?

When you use online TurboTax there are separate fees for the federal and state returns.  It sounds like you filed at a later time when the "early" discounts were over with.

Sounds like you used the Desktop program before.  Why are you using the Online version this year?  Could you not install the Desktop program this year?  Yes the fees and features are different between Online and Desktop.  

What schedule did you have to upgrade for?  There are a couple we could have said how to avoid them.
