Turbo Tax will not file my state tax due to the state withholding and the local withholding are the same amount. Any suggestions on how this happened? Can it be fixed?

You need to look at your W-2 form in boxes 17 and 19, your state and local tax withholdings. What you are saying is that TurboTax is indicating that they are the same amount. If not, then you must have entered the W-2 form information in TurboTax incorrectly. In that case, you will need to edit your W-2 entry as follows:

1. Choose the Federal option on your left menu bar
2. Choose Wages & Income
3. Choose Job(W-2) and click on the Update box to see an option to edit your W-2 form entry

If the numbers are the same, which is unusual, you will not be able to e-file your state return as the state will not accept it, so you would need to mail your return in.
