TURBOTAX TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY  ACCOUNT

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

How can I see my TurboTax  fees?

You do not have to use TurboTax ever again if you do not want to.   But you need to be aware that no matter what tax software program you choose to use in the future ---- when you choose to have the fees deducted from your federal refund there will always be a fee for that choice, and there will always be a stipulation that you have to pay your fees within an allotted amount of time whether your refund arrives or not.   So avoid that situation.   Pay your software fees upfront.

And next time---see if you qualify to use any of the free filing services offered on the IRS site:

The IRS is very slow this year to pay some refunds.  They have been told to find tax cheaters and so going over returns much more carefully than in the past.  You signed up to pay TurboTax on a certain day and the money was owed even if you did not get your refund yet.  You will not have to pay the $40 or $45 fee because the money did not come from your return.

If you did not receive your refund, you need to contact the IRS and find out what is going on and when to expect it.

When you agreed to pay from your refund you also agreed to pay on a certain date if the refund was not received.  When that happens the refund is taken from your bank account.  You received three emails warning you that it would happen and giving the date that the withdrawal would be made.
