Turbo Tax Premier 2023 Intuit Log In Issues

My partner and I always purchase Turbo Tax Premier and split the cost for one license. He files for himself, his sister and his parents, and I file for just myself. This year I made the purchase on Amazon and gave him the license number. He downloaded first with no issues. When I downloaded a couple weeks later, I was prompted to log into Intuit account so I, of course, logged into my own account and entered the license code. I recall I was then informed that my license code was already associated with another Intuit account! Of course, I figured this had to be my partner's account so I contacted him and fortunately he got me into his Intuit account by sharing his verification code with me. Otherwise, he would have had to share his PW with me and I did not want him to do that! This is the first time in several years we've ever had to use the same Intuit account in order to share the license! I'm guessing this must be something new with Turbo Tax, but why did they change it?!

The License is (and has always been) you can install the program on 5 computers you own.  You are not suppose to share it.  Now they are enforcing it.

That’s what we figured, but I assumed they were always enforcing it by tracking how many returns got filed per license number regardless of what PC the returns were filed on. I really don’t understand why it makes a difference to Turbo Tax. Thank you though for confirming our suspicion.

As the license is only good for 1 download (or Computer) you would have had to log in to his computer opened up the software and started a new return.
