Too much effort to leave specific details but both the Tax CPA's and Software Specialists are great and get as frustrated as I during the hour long (or 2 hours) trying to get the software to do what is needed or using workaround manipulations. Today even verifying login doesn't work while on with a software specialist, so we had to quit for the day. 2020 tax year was of especial misery to the point that I just filed whatever with no confidence, later to find out the whole form needs deleting to keep the same entries from popping up again upon deletion. Since there was no confidence I opted not to file State until Fed has some confidence. Hence, here we are today to where we can't even access the site.
Values are changed on the "amended" process; when I opt to cancel the amend return and start new... you guessed it, the value do not revert back but remain. Delete cookies and still can't get on. All kinds of troubleshooting efforts and hours later....
I can't help but wonder why Intuit doesn't pay use to use their software. Yes I got refunded but not paid for my time and efforts.
Did I mention Turbo Tax is miserable?

I always use the desktop version with no issues.
After you delete the Amended return you have to manually take out the changes to put your return back to the original return. Did you ever ask here in the forum? I bet we could have helped you figure it out.
