Turbo Tax Live Assisted Seems like a Scummy Upsell, am I wrong?

My family and I have been using Turbo Tax for 8 years and will not be using in 2024 because of the "Live Assisted" upsell at the beginning. 

TLDR: Careful when starting a return do not select "Live Assisted" unless you know that is what you want. 

Historically Turbo Tax has done a great job determining if you are basic or deluxe filing plan. Makes sense if you are using more features you pay more. This year they added a live assisted that they recommend from the beginning. IF you select this n the beginning you will not be able to change later on regardless if you used the feature or if you need it.

Working through income section when it tried to add the MAX protection I declined. Then realized it had me in a higher tier for the the "Live Assisted", again did not realize I opted in assumed it was the normal DIY.  Worked through the support and no option to downgrade to non Live Assisted. Only way to remove it was to delete everything and start over.  I do not want to do that and am going to take my tax filing somewhere else.
