Turbo tax last said I wouldn't be able to file certain forms till the 11th of January yet now it says I can't till the 18th what has changed to cause this?

waiting to file  Itemized deductions, UEBE, and individual tax return....Im assuming this is what is preventing me from paying with my return....as I have every year. In addition I didn't not request turbo tax deluxe yet it has some how switched over to delux and has significantly lowed my return

You need Deluxe to claim itemized deductions. What is UEBE?

That is the reason.  You cannot get through the FILE section to choose paying with your refund until all of your forms are available.  You still do not know why the date has changed?  Because the IRS does not have the forms ready yet.

and the IRS must then approve TT's versions (programming) of those forms. As indicated below, the IRS doesn't open for efiling until Jan 29 anyway. And be aware that there is an extra $39.99 charge for paying TT with your refund.

Some of those availability dates for tax forms have been pushed back. You may be aware that in late December Congress passed a major tax reform bill.  That has the IRS scrambling to get tax return forms ready for this tax filing season.  They were waiting for the laws to pass.

Some forms are not finalized so you cannot file.  The IRS has to finalize a number of forms and then approve the finalized forms in the TT software.  Many state forms are not finalized either.  What's the rush?  The IRS will not be accepting returns until January 29 at the earliest, so filing early will not get you a faster refund.  The earliest refunds will not be released until mid to late February.  You just have to wait for the forms to be ready.

Not sure how you think changing to Deluxe has lowered your refund.  If you entered something like an itemized deduction, then you had to upgrade to a higher version from Free. Remember that as updates are added to the software, the calculations may change.  But if you want to clear and start over in Free:

Ah see that makes a lot of sense. There would be a mad scramble to bring forms up to date. Just hope on the 18th they don;t say you have to wait till the 25. Regarding your last point I always file as early as possible just to get it out of the way.
