I used to buy TT from Costco stores and packaging has CD in it. This year's package has no CD in it. Once your break security seal, there is software code. Basically they want to download software and use code to access it. Does TT still sell CD version or it depends from where you buy it?
With CD, even if you change computers later on, you can still use TT. Install software from CD and use with code printed on CD, all good. With download how does this work? Lets say if I change computers or if want to amend or do another return on a different computer?

I bought from the Costco store and got the CD. Are you sure? They only sell the download from Costco Online. If you bought it in the store did you take the receipt to the pickup window to get the CD? That happened to people. Or did you buy the new LIVE version? That is only for the Online Turbo Tax and not the Desktop program?
In past, when I bought TT from Costco, I got a DVD kind of box.
Well this year I bought and got receipt and went to window to pick up software. This there is no DVD kind of Box but there is thick card board with seal on it. I have NOT opened the seal yet to see what is inside. Costco Rep told me this year, once you break seal there is code inside to download and use it.
If you bought this years software from Costco, could you please tell how your box look like. Is it DVD kind of Box or Card Board Box (not sure they are trying to save on packaging).
There is reason I have NOT broken seal yet. I got free online premier version from my bank. I am trying to see, if I can use free online version and return Costco one to save some $$. Costco told me, you can return software if SEAL is not broken.
Yes it was a white package which I had to tear apart to get the CD out. The CD is in it. Maybe I can take a picture of what's left. I usually save everything.
I bought mine from Costco and it was just a thick cardboard envelope with a CD inside. I thought I was going to break the CD while trying to open the envelope:-). I used it to install the program, and there was an activation code inside. Hope this helps.
Here is my package cover and inside. The cover does say 2 ways to install - CD or Download in the Lower right.
Did you take your receipt to the pick up section because that is where you will get the CD. The Turbo Tax that you buy from Costco has 5 licenses. This means you can install it on 5 different computers. However, please note, if you install it with the CD first on a computer than you can not use the download security code on say a laptop that does not have a CD drive. So make sure if you are going to load it on a laptop do that first. If you have any problems though take it back to Costco and tell them that you were only able to use it on one computer and it is supposed to have 5 licenses. They may give you a little bit of a hard time but they will return it.
Here's the inside.
I can't see what is behind this tear up. Is there a CD? If yes, your pictures is NOT showing CD.
So first download to a laptop or computer (without CD drive) then use on other computers with CD drive?
Lets say if you bought and download software directly from TT? Can you re-down load same software years later (in case you need to amend it)? How?
Yes I found another cardboard CD holder inside with the License Code on it. Lots of packaging to get to it.
Ok here is the CD
