If you received a "Success" message that the import worked but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it may be due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.

To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings. If using Chrome as a browser:

  1. Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL.
  2. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu.
  3. Toggle the switch to ON.
  4. Refresh the page and attempt your import again.

See this Apple webpage for information to control access to your local network on Mac.

If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:

  • Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back.
  • Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.

If you've confirmed the file is available for import, and need to try the import again, you can also try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox), or restart the browser/computer then try the import again.

If you have a Windows device and are able import the statement you need to a Windows computer, you can use these steps to move it to your Mac that has TurboTax:

  1. Move the File: Copy your 1099 file from the original computer onto a USB flash drive or secure cloud storage.
  2. Transfer to Mac: Copy the file from the USB drive to your Mac's Desktop or Documents folder.
  3. Import into TurboTax:
    1. Open TurboTax for Mac.
    2. Select File in the top menu bar, then choose Import > From PDF.
    3. If uploading a specific 1099 (like 1099-B), search for "1099" in the search box, select the "Jump to" link, and follow the prompt to upload the file.

Please see this help article for more information about importing issues.
