I've disabled both firewall and A/V yet TT seems unable to contact the update server. There is NOTHING wrong with my computer's internet connection as this post will attest.
Is the update sever down at the moment?

Troubleshoot TurboTax for Windows updating issues
I followed those instructions yesterday and finally managed to get the FED updates. Since the state updates aren't updated, I still had to wait until the server became available. After restarting TT many times throughout today, it finally made the connection and downloaded the Ohio updates.
I've been in IT since 1963, so network routing is easy. What you need is a button on your home page (or one on TT itself) that will tell a user if the update server is down. Blaming the outage on the user's computer is NOT the best thing to do is it causes anxiety that their computer might have something wrong. I ran a "tracert" and found the DNS server couldn't locate a good IP address for your update server. When "ipconfig /flushdns" didn't solve the problem, I knew it had to be the update server and not my computer.
Thanks for the info. I passed it on to my granddaughter who was doing her taxes as well and could't update either.
