Transferring 2018 taxes

I cannot transfer my 2018 taxes to my 2019 taxes. In both years I used Turbo Tax Premier. It asks me to find my 2018 taxes but all the applications are "gray". Nothing shows up.

You are looking for the .tax file for your 2018 tax return. It is the file that the TurboTax program reads, not the PDF or the software file.

I would try searching your system for .tax or .tax2018 to help you find the location of the files. I am taking it as assumed that you have not changed computers or hard drives between 2018 and 2019.

Where do I type in .tax2018 to find a return from 2018 that did not transfer to 2019?

If you are using windows left click the windows start logo lower left corner of screen. Select search enter .tax2018 a list of any files with the .tax2018 extension will be shown.

My previous year's taxes, 2018 and back, are all on my Mac, But when I try to transfer to the just installed 2019 TurboTax, the transfer button is grayed out and the computer freezes!

How do I start my taxes? I've not had this problem before in my many years of using TurboTax!
