A previous post stated that I received an error message while trying to update W2 data. Well, it's worse than that because TT will not let me update any of the Wages items that are listed even though the 2023 data shows up to the left of the 2024 box. As soon as I click the box to update, an error message comes up saying I have to go back and continue from there. I have no clue what that statement means. My 2023 TT file I assume is good because it was approved by the IRS after being delivered by TT. the 2024 TT Premier version has a bug in it, but no one appears to know what to do.

It turned out, after some angst, that the original TT download was corrupted. It was not only the W2 entry but 90% of the updates gave an error message. TT had a link on their web site where in LIBRARY you could delete the number of pieces of code that support the app; one or many of them being the corrupted one. Then I re-downloaded a fresh copy of TT and it was successful. I have a MacBook Air computer. All other suggestions did not work because of the corrupted download. Deleting the original TT download using Clean-My-Mac, may have cleared out the "bad" code. Unfortunately, I did not try it. I hope this helps someone.
