There is a math error in the calculation of the additional taxes due. The difference between my total taxes paid and tax liability is $657, but turbotax shows $752.

Why the discrepancy?  How do I fix it?  $25205 - $25862 = -$657.  That is NOT $752!

You can manually override the number if you right click and select override. Then type in the correct number. I am really surprised there is an error but if you need to correct it the override should work.

You probably have a penalty on line 38.  Check there.  That adds into line 37.

 

You might be able to eliminate it or at least reduce it. You can go to Federal Taxes tab or Personal tab, under Other Tax Situations and select Start by the Underpayment Penalties. You will answer a series of questions that may reduce or eliminate the penalty. Or you can elect to have the IRS figure the penalty for you. It's form 2210.
