The verification code is not going through to my Gmail

It can take a couple of minutes for your code to arrive. Here are a few things you can do:

  • Check your junk mail or spam folder to see if the email went there.
  • Check all email addresses you might've used to sign up for your account.
  • Request a new verification code by selecting I didn’t get a text, I didn’t get an email, or I didn’t get a phone call on the sign-in page.
  • If you lost your phone, check your text messages online at your cell carrier’s website.
  • Allow or unblock our numbers 88811 and 97962 on your iOS or Android device.

@ robertforest44

You didn't say which verification code, so I'll assume you are referring to the 6-digit email verification code that some filers get asked for when they try to efile.

If you continue to have a problem verifying your email address during filing after checking the tips provided to you above by @DawnC, here's another option.  You can try to verify it in your Account Settings.   Once verified there, then hopefully it won't ask you to again verify it when efiling.    Here's how:

You can go to your settings in your Intuit account and verify your email address there if it's not verified.

If your email address needs correcting, you can also change and verify the email address (using the steps below.)

  • In the left menu column scroll way down to Intuit Account.
  • Then once in the account choose tab Sign In & Security.
  • See if your email address has a tiny link beside it that says "not verified".  If so, click that to verify.
  • It may then send a link to your email instead of a code by which you can verify it.
  • Perhaps once you verify it there inside the account settings, it won't ask you to verify it again when you are efiling.
