The va charged me 500 dollars taxation when I should be getting money back. Plus turbo tax is supposed to charge me at the end of the month

The state of Virginia says you owe tax due?     If the state changed something on your state return you have to find out from the state what they changed.   The state does not give any information to TurboTax when they change your refund or find something incorrect on your return.

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

OP is asking from TT Live.  Doesn't that require payment upfront?

@SweetieJean I am not sure if users of "Live" can use refund processing or not.   And...I do not always trust that users have correctly clicked which version of the software they used.

@harl976135 Did you use the online "Live" software you posted your question from?   And what did you mean when you said TT is supposed to charge you at the end of the month?

@xmasbaby0 I wonder if OP meant "the CPA" when he/she said "the va," and is referring to a $500 prep fee (although that sounds pretty large, even for TT Live).
