I filed 'Married filing jointly', but my standard deduction is showing as 12,700. Shouldn't it be 24,000?

Not until next year when we file the 2018 taxes, then the new tax laws come into play.

The standard deduction for a married couple filing jointly is $12,700 for tax year 2017.

It will be increased to $24,000 only from 2018.
