Will the government shutdown affect my return ? Will the tax season start on time 1/29/18? I filed on 1/18/18 and was accepted the same day.

Of course! Though the bulk of IRS employees have been furloughed (just like they were in 2013), you're still responsible for filing your tax return. And if you're expecting a refund, it might well be delayed.
