Please explain why your Absolute Zero edition did not apply to my 2017 returns.

The Free Edition/Absolute Zero only handles simple 1040-A and 1040-EZ returns, with standard deductions.

So if you need the 1040 long form and to itemize deductions on Schedule A, you will need Deluxe or higher for that.

This product guide may also help with determining which one will work best for you

Our 2016 TurboTax Online product lineup delivers the right experience for your tax situation:

Tell us about you and we'll recommend the TurboTax product that's right for you.

Still not sure? Start with our TurboTax Online Federal Free Edition – if your tax situation requires an upgrade, we’ll let you know.
