Why am i getting the message that "unfortunately I can't file an extension because the deadline passed?" today's date is Feb 28th. Thank you

I'm trying to file an extension and when I go into that section it let's me go in, tells me that I''m about to start the extension….next, then next page says "unfortunately the filing date has passed"  today's date is 2/28/19.  Thank you

The extension process for 2018 Tax Returns is not yet available in TurboTax, you are just a little ahead of the game!

The 2018 extension process will be available in mid-March.
