Yes.  TurboTax Premier (online and desktop) or Self-Employed (online) or Home and Biz (desktop) will handle cryptocurrency transactions and taxes and support for those entries.

It is handled the same in Online and the Desktop versions of TurboTax, however, there is no CSV file upload feature in Desktop.  Crypto transactions have their own separate line in the Online version but that is the only visual difference.  The calculations are the same in both platforms.

Is there an ETA for this update? It's getting close to the point where I'd like to file.

I only have a few cryptocurrency transactions and would be fine filling out the form manually if the desktop won't ever support this. Would also be interested in getting my desktop version of Premier transferred to an online version to fill out cryptocurrency data.

What update?   Post a new question so others will see it and help you out!   - <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/new">https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/new</a>

I figured the desktop version would need an update to support the cryptocurrency reporting added to the online version since I cannot follow these instructions with the latest Windows version of Premier 2018: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4160260-how-do-i-report-bitcoin-or-other-cryptocurrency-as-a-capit...>

I could ask a new question, but it'd be a duplicate of this one and <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4618499-how-do-you-track-cryptocurrency-capital-gains-in-the-deskt...> (see the comments to the answer where other people are looking for an update).

There is not a separate section for crypto in desktop (and there is no update to add one) - you enter it under Investments -''Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, Other''.  Online has a separate entry spot but it is not needed (especially if you only have a few transactions).  Desktop is the better option, just enter the transactions like stock transactions (use the ''everything else'' category).

The article is misleading, it shows how easy and simple it is via the online option to import CSV files from Coinbase and so. Is there a way to import the transactions in the desktop version in a similar fashion? Thanks
