Texas Franchise Tax - Cannot Efile Final Tax Return - Error with Form 05-102

I scoured and found this, but it doesn't resolve my issue:

I am trying to eFile and am stuck in an endless loop. We had an LLC in Texas and we are dissolving it and making this our final return, as the business did not yield a profit two years in a row. I will be masking some data for privacy.

The following screen provides form 05-167 and says the form should not be completed for a final return.

Afterwards, it puts me right back into the first screen shot with an endless loop. I definitely need assistance with all of this, as I am at a loss as to what to do.

You may not need to file Texas Forms 05-102 as it is a public information report only and your business has ceased doing business.  We need some additional information in order to better understand your tax situation.   When entities, such as LLCs, cease doing business in Texas they are required to file certain forms based on the following information from the 2022 Texas Franchise Report Instructions: 

Final Reports 

An entity, other than a member of a combined group, that ceases doing business in Texas for any reason (i.e., termination, withdrawal, merger, etc.) is required to file a final franchise tax report (Forms 05-158-A and 05-158-B, 05-163 or 05-169) and pay any additional tax, if due.

Are you filing the reports mentioned above, i.e., Forms 05-158A, 05-158B, 05-163, or 05-169?

I'm encountering the same issue that I'm trying to efile texas franchise tax return for a final year. TurboTax business does not allow me efile unless I can remove both Form 05-102 and 05-167, both of which I don't have control over the TurboTax program. 

When you said "are you filing the reports with Forms 05-158A, 05-158B, 05-163, or 05-169", does this mean users have the ability to select these forms ? We are under the assumption that when filing for a final year, TurboTax should provide the correct forms.

You can remove those forms by going to the forms mode in your Turbo Tax business product. Go to the Texas forms section and select one of these forms that appear on the left side of your program. Select form 5-102 and then select delete form at the bottom of the form.  Now do the same for form 05-167.

I'm in the same situation trying to transmit my state return, but it keeps looping back to my company name with the following message "Texas requires that the name is composed of characters A through Z, 0 through 9, '-', or '&'" . I formed this company in 2005 and have never had issues filing. Any suggestions?

Does your company name contain any other characters? Have you tried deleting retyping your company name? It's possible a stray character was imported to the franchise tax module.
