If you did not file a 2022 return then the IRS does not have a record of your 2022 AGI. Try using "zero" instead. If zero does not work and allow you to e-file you will have to print, sign and mail your return. Attach a copy of the rejection notice.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
As for the 2022 return that you had an extension for----the extension was only to give you until October 16, 2023 to file that return. That return cannot be e-filed; it will have to be filed by mail. If you owe tax due for 2022, your interest and late filing penalties have been adding up.
