Tax Review - TurboTax missed a very important entry

While working on my 2022 return, I noticed, while reading a summary of the last 3 years, that the Soc. Sec. total in my 2021 return was about 1/2 of current and earlier years. I opened my 2021 return and found that I had neglected to enter the info from Box 5 in the SSA-1099 for 2021. My wife's amount was entered

I filed  Amended Returns, both federal and state, and paid the additional tax so hopefully, all is now well.

My gripe: Why didn't the TurboTax review process spot this problem? A large disparity from the previous year should have triggered an inspection and subsequent correction should it be determined an error.
