Tax Returns extension & ITIN

If I'm married before December 31st, 2023 & my wife will be here only after April 18th. Can I file for an extension(on my own)? Once she is here can I apply for ITIN & file as MFJ?

Just confirming. when I said, filing by myself meant extension as an individual but filing as MFJ when the time comes. I hope that is okay.
