If we filed jointly but injured spouse and the they had a debt to the state that they were making monthly payments on, would they take their half of the return to pay that off even though automatic payments were set up?

Yes, they will take your refund even if you are making monthly payments until it is paid off.

I was charged 209.00 dollars to file . I was only supposed to be charged 40. Dollars I went standard form . Why would I pay 209. When my refund was only $200.
