Tax prep error for Iowa return with excess characters in suffix in personal info transferred from accepted federal return.  Turbotax prepares an Iowa return but will not accept what is done for filing.  Attempts to modify the forms entries are not effective to correct a problem that is not obvious.  Something seems wrong with how Turbotax is transferring the name, which has no suffix?

Others have said the excess characters are actually in the Payor Names on 1099-Div or 1099-Int forms.

Try shortening any lengthy ones you have in your return and see if this resolves your issue.
