Due to the tax law changes in my personal situation as I have not retired I need to know if TurboTax offers the short form for both federal and state returns? In the past, I have a file form 1040 in order to itemized deductions, and no longer need to do that as I have not qualified the past two years.

Yes - - TurboTax will automatically use the SR version if your birthdate entered indicates you are over 65.   You don't have to chose a form, TurboTax will use the appropriate form for your situation. 😉

There has not been a "short form" since 2017.    The 1040EZ and 1040A has been gone since the tax laws changed for 2018 and beyond.    Everyone uses a Form 1040 now.  If you are 65 or older you will have a 1040SR---which is identical except for bigger type.

There is only one 1040 form - the 1040-A and 1040-EZ have been eliminated, so, everyone uses the same Form 1040.   You can choose to use the Standard Deduction, however, you do not have to itemize deductions.   Most people use the Standard Deduction, so TurboTax will work fine for you - just enter your tax information.
