Tax Filing issues

I am 21 years old. I submitted my tax returns (W2's) through turbotax and received my refund. My guardian went to claim me as a dependent but was denied. Why is that? I did the same thing last year without an issue.

Sometimes this happens when mistakenly you forget to mark that you can be claimed as a dependent by someone else when completing your return. If you have already filed your return claiming your exemption, the only way to change that is to amend your return, removing your exemption. In order to have the amendment processed, the amended return will need to be completed, printed, signed and mailed. If your guardian is entitled to your exemption and still wants to file you as a dependent on this years' return, his/her return will also need to be printed and mailed for processing.

I just downloaded my tax documents from turbotax and on the "personal information worksheet for the taxpayer". Under section 2, I answered "yes" someone can claim me to question one. For question two I also responded "yes" I was claimed on their return. Assuming it didn't matter if they didn't file their return yet.

Then someone else used your info ... have the guardian mail in their return.
