Remember that an extension does not give you more time to pay. You need to pay your tax due by April 15. The extension only gives you more time to prepare and file your tax return forms.

Keep in mind, this is an extension of time to file, not an extension of time to pay.
I had the same question. Neither of the two people who replied answered the question we have: where's the "jump to"? In fact, I could find NOTHING in the desktop app that led me to the form. I even looked in the form list. Aaargh!
You can't e-file through TurboTax desktop. If you want to e-file your extension (recommended) you can file your extension at our Easy Extension website.
You had to create a TurboTax Online account to install the desktop software. Use this link - Easy Extension website and sign into that TurboTax Online account.
You can skip past the TurboTax payment screen and choose to pay your tax bill at the IRS website. TurboTax will e-file your extension. Then you can use the desktop software to file your tax return later. @susan036
Thanks @DawnC. I filed the extension on the IRS website. It seems obvious now that one can't file an extension through the software. But the instructions indicate that one can. That's why the question was posted. (Also, we could file through the software in prior years.)
Screenshot from desktop software instructions below.
TT should fix.
