Tackling Credit Marks

Good Afternoon,

I recently started keeping up with my credit score and wanted to find ways to boost it. While Turbo Tax does partner with Credit Karma and gives us access to the website, I am struggling to find more details for the merchant.

It gives an objective summary and the amount due but nothing about what business to call or even a specific name.  I'm trying to pay it off but don't know to whom. Is there a way to find out more detailed information?

    Hi @Tiarra1 !

While we have to be careful not to give financial advice here, it sounds like you are looking for detailed information about a creditor reporting information on you to the credit bureaus.  Please visit the links below to get started requesting a free copy of your credit report from each.

    Experian

    Transunion

    Hi Tiarra:

Great job on taking charge of your credit score!  You can get a free copy of your credit score once a year from any of the 3 major Credit Bureaus: Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. So you can get a total of 3 free credit reports (1 from each Bureau) annually. Below are links to requesting your free report. It will have all the merchant information you need in order to pay down your account:

May you have a great journey to financial control and freedom!

    Thanks,

    Akil C.
