Can you tell us a little bit more about what you are experiencing?  Also, clarify if this is for the South Carolina subsistence allowance for law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS or something else.

On my SC1040 form it stated to fix the subsistence allowance on that form. I do not qualify. Online it states to leave it blank so I do. It keeps on asking to fix it. I can not by pass this and I am unable to file my taxes

The program believes you qualify. Follow these steps:

  1. Go back through the SC return.
  2. Look for the income that SC handles differently.
  3. Scroll down to Public Service.
  4. Look for Subsistence Allowance.
  5. Enter zero
  6. Continue
  7. This should make the program realize your amount is zero.
  8. You may want to log out.
  9. Edit SC again
  10. Go back to where the zero was entered and remove it then click back, not continue
  11. click back until out of the section
  12. check there is no form in your return

 Online:

  1. In the left-hand menu, click Tax Tools > Tools.
  2. Select Delete a form.
  3. Look for forms and worksheets related to issue -delete if there
  4. Additional help, see  How do I view and delete forms in TTO?

Desktop: switch to Forms mode and delete

On my state tax return it is asking me to fix the sc1040 under subsistence allowance to fill it out. It stated to leave blank if you do not qualify. I leave it blank and it repeats to fix it
