Stimulus

So my mother filed me as dependent in 2018 and I filed individually in 2019 and wasn’t claimed. The IRS is saying I don’t receive stimulus check because I was claimed in 18 even the I wasn’t in 19. What can I do?

Stimulus

The IRS was basing their decision on your mom's 2018 return.

The stimulus is actually an advance on a refundable 2020 credit and you will receive it when you file your 2020 tax return as a non-dependent.
