Stimulus check

How come I've received the 1st stimulus check they took cuz I owe child support. Then they gave it back when filed my taxes but they offset my taxes for child support. Then I received the plus up payment but since I received it with my taxes the took it. So really the stimulus money they gave me twice didn't do me any good all it did was give my kids mom more money. So how did that help me financially

It helped you financially because it reduced the amount of child support you have to pay.

• For example: If you owed $1,400 in child support and you got the third stimulus payment of $1,400, now you don't owe the $1,400 child support. If you never got the $1,400 third stimulus, you would still owe the $1,400 in child support.
