stimulus and deceased person

my mom passed away january 2020. she received the first stimulus check (actual check). do i have to return the check to the irs or can it be put into her estate. also turbo tax says she gets the second stimulus check. is this correct.

Yes she gets both. You can keep the first one. Are you filing a Joint return for 2020?

For deceased individuals see the second question under Eligibility. If they died in 2020 they still get it.

my mom was widowed so it will be a separate return. So i guess i can deposit her first stimulus into the estate and take the second stimulus in her 2020 tax return. thanks for your help.
