I surely must be doing something wrong. I am trying to go back and use the step by step process for any form and it doesn't take me to the specific form. ie. my farm rental. It just comes up and wants me to start all over again by saying we will try to get you the biggest refund or whatever it says. I am going to the forms and selecting the one I want on the left side of the screen and then clicking on the step by step in the upper right---to no avail.

Any ideas that might help? I must be doing something wrong??
do not use the button at the upper right for that process. at the upper left is a tab for VIEW. if you click that you can see the option to select VIEW FORMS or STEP BY STEP. to switch back and forth to the view you want. Hopefully that answers your question. Some of the forms allow you to click the search glass next to the line you are wanting to address and it will take you to the location the data it pulled. The other possibility is you are using the wrong process. I think the program assumes you do not already know all the forms involved. Your initial input should be to continue past the Lets Get You the Biggest Refund the choose the I Will Explore on My Own section where you can jump down to the rentals section. You can make your entries there and go back to other sections as you are ready to make entries. If you haven't used the program in the past choose Guide Me so you don't miss any steps but that can be done later if you want to start with the rental first.
The Step-by-Step process is available for the main TurboTax interview sections. Forms Mode is generally not used for data entry but is useful for view a form completed using the interview steps.
During the interview, you can choose Forms and TurboTax will display the related form. When you click Step-By-Step, the program will generally take you back to where you were working before.
