What does it mean when the state wages are listed the same as the total wages?

State taxes

If your state wages are the same as total wages, it likely means that you did not have any pretax federal contributions such as a 401K or FSA.  

If you did make 401K contributions or other pretax contributions, please double check your entries on your W-2 or contact your employer to verify if your form is correct.
