State tax gets rejected say mismatch in form W-2, Box 18

Box 16 and box 18 both have the same amount in them, box 5 (Medicare) has a higher amount.  I modified the amount but it always rounds the number, could this be the issue?Capture.JPG

I am having the same exact issue. I reviewed and tried to resubmit three times and keep having it accepted and rejected.

State tax gets rejected say mismatch in form W-2, Box 18

Please see this help article for a list of reject codes and how to fix them.

If there is a dollar amount in Box 19, Local Income Tax, TurboTax will expect there to be an amount in Box 18, Local wages, tips, etc.  There should also be an entry in Box 20, Locality name. If your employer left Box 18 blank, and all of your income was earned in the same locality, then the amount from Box 1 would normally be repeated in Box 18.

If you have a question as to how your Local Income Tax was determined, ask your employer or payroll office.

You should enter all of the withholding shown on your W-2. However, if you have one W-2 that shows the same state, and different locality information in boxes 18 and 19, but the same locality in Box 20, check with your employer to determine whether one of the duplicate localities is incorrect. All of the wages taxed by one locality on one W-2 should be on a single line.

The entry in W-2, Box 20, is the name of the locality responsible for assessing your local income tax. It could be a city, town, school district, or something else. Depending on where you live, you may even have more than one locality. If you do, just add a new row to enter info for another locality.

See this TurboTax tips article for more information about Form W-2.
