State return being rejected

I'm getting this error. The problem is, my 1099g info appears to be correct and line 1 is greater than the amount withheld. I think it's a glitch.

Description of error:

If State1099G Line 10a StateAbbreviationCd is equal to IL, State1099G Line 11 StateTaxWithheldAmt must not be greater than State1099G Line 1 UnemploymentCompAmt times the current individual income tax rate, allowing for rounding.

Your state tax withheld is the error. The error says your state income and state tax withheld are the same- equal. This would be in conflict with line 1 federal income. Please review your state tax withheld for accuracy.

I checked and line 1 is greater, but it's still being rejected.

The error actually states that the withholding amount should not be greater than the unemployment compensation amount times the individual income tax rate.  This means you are only allowed to withhold the amount required to pay the state tax on your unemployment, but not any more than that.

Take the amount for your unemployment compensation and multiply it by 0.495 (which is 4.95%) and compare that number to the amount being withheld for the state.  If the withholding is greater, that is what is causing the error.

You should double-check the amounts that you entered for the 1099-G to be sure everything is accurate.
