Why does TT charge for state e-filing when federal e-file is free?

    that's what you agrred to when you efiled state.   next year and FYI.

    you can mail in state for free

    or

    some staes have a website where you can enter your data and file for free.

    Been paper filing my state for about 20 years using TT, for the cost of postage, so being charged was not something I was accepting from TT. I thought it was time to ask the question why one was free, and the other cost $20.
