SSI and overpayment

I get SSI and won money overseas by gambling. The most I won at one time was $960. I pay that back to SSA as far as an overpayment. Do I still need to pay taxes on it since I paid overpayment to SSA

The income is taxable, but if all you received was SSI income and the $960, it may not be enough to have you incur a tax. You may not even need to file a tax return, you can use this IRS tool to help determine that.
