As I'm going through the Step-By-Step questions and get to the SSA 1099 area, no form pops up. I can go to Forms and input the info manually, but this is not helpful to those who like to be walked through all the questions. Must be a software bug that needs fixing...please help fix this problem.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
If you are referring to Step-By-Step it suggests that you're in the Desktop version of TurboTax.
If you select Federal Taxes
When you go to the FORMS mode you will see what you posted on a FORM labeled Social Sec
When I click on the SSA button to enter info no form comes up, it won’t go to the next section. The software has a bug that needs to be fixed.
Yes, step by step mode works, including forms mode for the SSA-1099. I am using TurboTax Home and Business, and TurboTax Basic software. Under both I tried to enter a 1099-SSA and the form pops up in the step by step mode, asking if you received these benefits. After clicking yes on both programs, it lead me to Box 5 Net Benefits and other boxes. Please click online at the upper left hand corner and then select check for updates. For Mac users go to TurboTax at upper left hand corner and check for updates.
You could also use the search tool and search for "1099-ssa", click the jump to link in blue and it should take you directly to the form.
In TurboTax Online Basic it is also working just for your information, the form pops up. Try the search tool for sure. Please let me know if this works or give me a thumbs up.
If none (updates), save your return close TurboTax and reopen TurboTax, then open your return.
@rogergreen63
Desktop Deluxe SSA-1099 form does not appear in Step by Step, just presented with blank screen. When I go back to "Wages and Income" it skips to next section. When I choose "I'll choose what to work on" and then try to update "Social Security ..........." I get the same blank screen. When I switch to "Forms" nothing is shown for SSA-1099 only the "Social Security" worksheet.
@dwhitsr6zeh Are using a Windows or a Mac Operating System?
Windows 10
@dwhitsr6zeh OK...Try this
Save your tax return. Close the TurboTax program
Right click on the TurboTax icon
Click on Properties
Click on the Compatibility tab
Check the box Run the program as an administrator
Click on Apply and OK
Start the TurboTax program and see if the problem persists for entering a SSA-1099
Running as Administrator seems to resolve the issue. At least I am getting the input form.
Good that is resolved. Anything else just post.
