Spouse in nursing home on medicaid. Can still file joint return?

Yes, you can file a joint return with your spouse as long as you were married on December 31,2016. I can't, however, speak to how that would affect Medicaid eligibility.Each state has different rules about who can get Medicaid and what is covered.

Yes, you can file a joint return with your spouse as long as you were married on December 31,2016. I can't, however, speak to how that would affect Medicaid eligibility.Each state has different rules about who can get Medicaid and what is covered.

@kirk435 This thread has has no activity for quite a few years.   We are not sure why you are posting here.  Please ask a clearly worded, specific question so we will know how to help.   Include more information than just where the people live.   But no personal information like SSN's etc.
