Someone stole my Stimulus check. I made a police report. How can I contact someone at the IRS the police want the check number to put fraudulent alert on the check

The IRS is not taking phone calls now, nor are they looking at anything submitted on paper, so there is no way for them to give you the check number.

I'm sorry to hear about this issue. You did the right thing in reporting it to law enforcement. Once the IRS resumes normal operations, please reach out to them at  800 829 1040. Please make sure you have your police report case number handy when you call them.
