there is a broker listed on my 1099-B. where do I find it? This was a "Long-term transactions" the say the use Form 8949
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
With respect to the Form 8949, you will not list the Broker's name, but rather the name of the UNDERLYING ASSET the broker sold for you.
Notwithstanding that, the broker's name is listed as the "Payer" most often at the top left of the Form 1099-B.
To enter your 1099-B in TurboTax, enter "investment sales" (without the quotes) in the search box, then click the link that says "Jump to investment sales." When you enter the sale, TurboTax will fill out the appropriate forms. If you are using TurboTax Online, you have to use Premier or higher to enter investment sales.
