software file corrupt

I downloaded the 2025 TurboTax. It was able to see my 2024 TurboTax files, but failed to upload it. When I created a new tax return file. After I closed it, the next time I wanted to open it, the file was corrupted and unopenable.

If you're using TurboTax Desktop, open the 2024 program and re-save your tax file to your C drive or desktop.   Or check Documents > TurboTax for a backup copy of your tax file, with a tilde sign in front of it for transferring. 

If you saved it originally in a cloud type environment, it can become corrupted.
