Smart Check error

Hi Chelsea, thanks for answering my question.

Re: Smart Check error

Box 8 needs to be filled out with the foreign country or U.S. territory listed on your 1099-DIV.  You should have the option to select a country from the dropdown options. If you have more than one country listed on your brokerage statement, then you can select various for the non-RIC listings.

I hope that answers your question.  Please give a thumbs up if you like the response

Unfortunately, TT shows the imported value from the Brokerage as spaces, and there is no dropdown option to select spaces. If I choose a country or "various" in Box 8, it shows as a mismatch in Smart Check. How do you recommend I get rid of the Smart Check error (actually getting 5 of them for different Brokerage forms? Thanks again!

It could be a variety of things triggering the error. The most likely option is an import error.  You may try to delete the 5 1099-Divs that have the error and then reenter them manually. This should populate the dropdown options in Box 8.
